Fabric Trays

Organising in the home…

So this week I’ve put the bag projects to one side (I know the restraint!) and have decided to make something for around the house instead. I’ve had Noodlehead’s ‘Fabric Trays’ project in my to-do pile for quite a while. So I found some left over fabric and got started.

Fabric Trays

This tutorial is very simple and an easy project for a beginner. It’s got very detailed instructions and pictures to match. It also takes no time at all to complete. I got all of mine finished in one afternoon. There are also measurement’s for three different tray sizes. Always great to have different options! What’s more – the fabric trays tutorial is completely free on Noodlehead’s website.

Large Fabric Tray
Medium Fabric Tray

This fabric trays project is also a great way to use up scrap fabric. I always seem to have lots of left over fabric that I can’t bear to throw away. So a project like this is a great way to use it. You might have to source the Pellon double sided stiff interfacing as it’s not commonly used. If you can’t find it locally they do stock it on fabric.com.

Small Fabric Tray

I’ve made all three fabric tray sizes. I don’t think I’ll be making the larger size again because I haven’t found much of a use for it. But I’ll definitely be making more of the small and medium sized trays. The small tray has been very useful for all sorts of things. I’ve got one by my front door for house keys and another in my sewing room. It’s all about what you might use them for. If you feel like a quick and easy project for the home I can definitely recommend this one.
