A Great Afternoon Project…
Sometimes on the weekend you just want to make something that doesn’t take too much time. Something that is ready to use quickly. Well a few months back I was getting ready for a course that required me to bring all my own sewing tools. I was thinking that having a clear pouch would be perfect. It would keep all my tools safe whilst making it easy to find what I’m looking for. Since I only had an afternoon I needed to get started. After a bit of Pinterest searching I found this Poolside Splash Proof Pouch by ‘STITCHED by Crystal’ and got started.
Luckily I have some clear vinyl in my fabric stash so it was just a matter of finding some scrap material for the bias binding and I was good to go. Now this tutorial does give you size measurements to cut. But it is super easy to modify the measurements to match your own needs. I just got all my sewing tools together and got a rough estimate of how big my pouch needed to be and doubled the height when cutting my vinyl. Also remember to use clips for this project! If you use pins you’ll get little holes all over your vinyl.
This tutorial is very easy to follow and it takes no time at all to sew together. I haven’t tried out the splash proof side but I’m sure these pouches will protect all your belongings. I’ll definitely be making more of these as I think they will come in handy for summer and the beach!
This Poolside Splash Proof Pouch is a great afternoon project to sink your teeth into. I’ve now got myself a see-through pouch for all my sewing tools.
