There’s definitely exciting things coming up!
I’m really sorry that this post is coming out so late. But there is a very good reason for it and to be honest – I’m quite excited! I’ve been working very hard on my very first bag pattern 😆! So hopefully you’ll forgive me for how late my mid year update 2022 is. There’s certainly been plenty of exciting things happening!
I suppose the best place to start would to be to look at my goals for the year. And to be honest I’m pretty happy with my progress. I’ve definitely been making more clothes for myself. Ok – most of it has been sleepwear but I feel like I’m learning something new with each make. Plus I absolutely adore my pyjama trousers, camisole and bathrobe. They are my favourites!
Clothes making has definitely been a learning curve. First it means I’ve had to learn how to divide my sewing time. Between making bags, designing bags, making for Etsy and sewing my own clothes. It’s going to be an on-going balancing act!
One other goal that I set myself; To spend more time on my Etsy store. I definitely have been working much more on my Etsy Store. I’ve added more me – made items with the addition of my Keyring Wristlets. But watch this space! Because I’ve got an exciting new direction I’m going to take my store. But more about that soon!
What is the second half of the year going to bring? Hopefully my very first bag pattern! My Pedlar Foldover Tote pattern has been in the works for quite a while. But I finally got it out to my pattern testers on the weekend. I’m not sure how long this process might take but I’m hoping I’ll have it published by end of year.
My Sewing Circle is still working on Swoon’s Dallas Duffel – but we are getting close to finishing. This means it’s time to start thinking of the next project. I’ve been leaning towards the Sunshine Crossbody Pouch by Bagstock designs. Of course – I’m always open to suggestions 🤗. And if you want to join in the fun please check out my facebook group. We are always looking for new members – the more the merrier!
One thing that I really need to work on though is my To-Do pile. There always seems to be at least a dozen half completed projects scattered around my sewing room. I really need to work on finishing projects before starting new ones. The Trailblazer backpack by Bagstock Designs is one, whilst Swoon’s Lola is another. And I’ve also got new clothes projects that I’m working on- like ithinksew’s Rio Wide Pants. Hopefully I’ll get some of them finished soon!
I can’t believe how fast the first half of the year has gone! That I’m already up to my Mid year Update 2022 post! Time does fly when you’re having fun. I might not have reached all of the goals I wanted to accomplish by now. But I’m still pretty chuffed at where I am at. Plus I still have the second half of the year to try and kick a few more goals!
