Phew 😅 So Happy To Have Finally Finished!
Sometimes sewing is more of a marathon than a sprint! At least it’s how some projects feel and my Drawstring Sunnies Case Tutorial was no exception. This one has been in the works for a long time so I’m ecstatic to have finally finished!
It always amazes me how long it can take to put a tutorial together… life just seems to get in the way. Well that and other urgent sewing projects. In the end you just hope you’ve explained yourself coherently. That you included enough photos to make it easy for people of all sewing levels. And that you made something others will want to make!
How did I come up with the Drawstring Sunnies Case Tutorial? It was a mixture of things. Firstly, I found I was always having problems fitting my sunglasses case in small bags. It’s a large, square, hard case – making it tricky. So I needed something less bulky. Second, I’m always looking for new ways to use up scrap fabric.
And so the idea was born! After a few different versions I settled on this one. I’ve made it using completely scrap materials. From the drawstring to the interfacing. I’ve included some features that are both stylish and practical – like the quilting. It’s very in fashion at the moment but also serves to keep the padding in place. And there’s plenty of padding to help keep you glasses protected.
Note: Some steps are optional, like the quilting. So newbies can omit these to make the project easier.
I’m pretty proud of the final result! Hopefully I’ve managed to create something that’s useful, practical, stylish and fashionable. A project that you want to make for yourself or maybe family and friends.
Most of all I want you to enjoy making my Drawstring Sunnies Case Tutorial!
