Winter Scarf Tutorial
The sun is out in Melbourne and things are getting warmer but I haven’t forgotten that for some of my readers Autumn has arrived and Winter will soon follow. So to help you get through those cold winter days I’ve created a Winter Scarf tutorial! Just because it’s cold doesn’t mean you can’t be stylish!
This is a very easy and quick project to make. Definitely a great beginner project if you haven’t done much sewing. It should only take you a couple of hours to make. The material list is quite small and it’s a great way to recycle those random buttons that you find in your drawer!
I’ve made this scarf with a cuddly fleece as the lining and a grey fleece on top. But it’s alway great to experiment so I’ve also made two other versions with cotton and fleece. The cotton versions also have a fusible fleece interface to give it a bit more warmth and bulk. It does make the scarf a bit stiff but it also helps the scarf keep it’s shape – which I like.
This scarf can be made many different ways. You might want to add a trim around the edges. Or extra buttons or maybe do some quilting or embroidery. Experiment with different fabrics and accessories. The possibilities are endless!
I hope you enjoy my tutorial and I’d love to see your finished scarves!
