Keeping those crayons organised…
This week I want to share another handmade Christmas Present with you – The Canvas Pencil Pouch tutorial by Noodlehead. I actually made a version of this for myself earlier in the year when I was doing my short courses. So when I had some fabric left over from making Paige’s little apron I decided it would make the perfect Christmas present.
This tutorial is very easy to follow and contains lots of pictures along the way so if you are new to sewing it’s a great project to start with. If you have never done box corners before you might find this step a bit tricky but other than that it’s a pretty straight forward tutorial.
With the pencil pouch I made for Paige I decided to leave the exterior one fabric and add some iron on lettering to personalise it. It’s always a nice touch when you’re making a gift for someone – particularly children. I purchased them from Etsy and there’s quite a few different styles to choose from. The fox fabric I picked up from Spotlight and I just love it. I also think it makes the pencil pouch more timeless and something Paige can use for many years to come.
This pencil pouch turned out to be a huge success on Christmas Day. Paige loved it and now she has a place to put all her pencils and crayons in when she’s finished colouring in!
